What I learnt:
Today I have learnt to use transparent photos without searching "Transparent" with the photo I want.
I learnt how to get GIF's without searching the photo I want with the word "GIF".
How to do it:
You search the photo - there will be a bar you click on that says "tools" - then click "colour" then "transparent" - If GIF , click "tools" - then "type" - then "GIF"

What do you find interesting about St Pius’ life & why?

What I find interesting about St Pius’ life is how he always wanted to be a priest from the age 11 up until he actually became one. It’s interesting because I would have changed what I wanted to be while growing up.

Similarities -

• Grew up poor
• Walks to school

Difference -

• St Pius walked to school barefoot because of how poor he was : whenever I need new school shoes I get it because my family is not that poor
• St Pius wanted to be a priest at the age of 11 : I never thought about a job at the age of 11
• He grew up in a family of nine : I grew up in a family of 7 
• He was born in Riese - Italy : I was born in New Zealand
• Pope Pius gave everything he had to the poor to help them : I only give a little , like coins

Step 1 - Dice the onion & chicken
Put it in the pan and fry it until it's cooked

Step 2 - Add butter chicken sauce , spices & cream

Step 3 - Stir for 10 minutes and serve it on a plate with rice.

Technology @ Tamaki College - Mince Wrap

Cooking W/ Trina

Step 1 - Dice the onion and fry it with mince until it is cooked
Step 2 - Add 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/2 a cup of hot water , then stir for 5 minutes , take it off the heat
Step 3 - Get the pastry & cut it into 4 equal piece
Step 4 - Put the paper liner on the tray then lay the pastry onto the paper
Step 5 - Add the mince mixture onto the pastry then add another layer of pastry on the top
Step 6 - Get the fork and press it against each other to close it
Now put it in the oven on 200 degrees until golden brown.

Bedmas

Order of operation
This week in Maths I have been learning about bedmas. (Brackets - Exponents - Division - Multiplication - Addition - Subtraction) This is the order of long equations.

For Example: 
(25 - 5)  / 5.
Division is supposed to be first but since the brackets is there , subtraction comes first. So 25 - 5 = 20 / 5 = 4.

This is called order of operation : BEDMAS

I am learning to write a narrative story and include simile , metaphor or personification.

Love

He feels nothing but pain in his heart as the cold wind whistles it’s way around him.
He thinks nobody loves him. He doesn’t think he is good enough for anyone.
He just sits there thinking silently.

The ocean growls as the big waves splash onto the shore from afar.
He gets up on both feet standing up high on the low brick wall. His legs shake of fear ,
he looks down to see the ocean far away from where he is. 

Suddenly he heard loud voices , worried voices , he looked back &
saw shadows getting closer & bigger. He took a step back, not saying anything
he shut his eyes , stretched his arms out then fell back. He then felt something
grip onto his left hand. He looked up and saw his mother struggling to pull him ,
her tears dripped onto him , then his little sister grabbed his right hand.

 They pulled him up back onto the ground.
His mother fell onto the ground then grabbed him ,
wrapped her arms around him then squeezed him firmly not letting him go.
He started to ball his eyes out realizing what trouble he had made.
He grabbed his little sister and hugged her.
Then heard the words he always wanted to hear.
“We love you!” , a waterfall sprung down from his face. He cried out “I love you too!”

Cooking w/ Aaliyah

Step 1: Get your lettuce and tomato, slice the lettuce and dice the tomato.

Step 2: Now get your wrap and spread mayo on half of it.

Step 3: Put the lettuce, tomato, chicken (that's already sliced) and cheese on half of the wrap. Then wrap it.

Be grateful

Once upon a time , 

there was a little girl named Aaliyah who had really

high expectations of how she lived. 

She always wanted to live in a big luxury

house with her parents on a street full of other children of her age.

She wanted to have a nice big car where it could take her anywhere she wanted.

She wanted to wear clothes every other rich girl would wear that was multi colored.

But that was only what she dreamed about.

Instead …. she lived in a tiny house with 1 room ,

Aaliyah shared rooms with her parents. They had to walk everywhere ,

so she could only go places her parents would go.

Everyday she had to wear brown shorts & a white top that was both made out of cloth.

She was sick of it. She hated the house , she didn’t care about being “grateful” ,

it was no use if she wasn’t grateful for some ugly tiny house.

So one day , while her parents were out hunting for food ,

Aaliyah took off with her pet dog Lukas.

She walked through a street and noticed a big house with children

running around everywhere. It looked exactly like the house she had dreamed about.

There was a big sign in front of the house that said “FOR SALE”.

She couldn't wait to tell her parents but then she noticed on the bottom of the sign it said that it was £2,500 pounds.

They can’t afford that! She frowned then walked away. 

She got back home to see her dad cleaning the house ,

her mum cooking food.

Aaliyah felt heartbroken that she had said all those things about

the house knowing that her parents worked really hard to buy it.

So she made it up to them.

Every day she cleaned the house on her own , hunted & cooked dinner.

She is very happy to be in this tiny house. She is really grateful to have her parents.
