My Learning Reflection 2019

5/12/19
- What did I do well in my learning this year?

I don’t think I did well on anything , I tried but didn’t try hard enough.
I didn’t really improve on my tests , I either went up by 2 or went down.
Whenever I was given homework to do which was related to my tests , I didn’t do it.
I was more into social media (Instagram , Facebook).
I completed most of my homework but I only did it for the sake of doing it.
I didn’t really understand what I was doing.
Now I know next time to try harder & finish off my homework with a good attitude.

New School

Friday 22nd November
My first week in the school was okay.
It's very different because of the rules we have. (No shoes inside , Lunch boxes all together in a box ,  During break time we can't be upstairs or inside the classrooms , etc.) We have all gotten used to some of the rules and we are trying to get use to calling our class names differently. (Te wairua pakiki 4 , 5 , 6) - the rest of the classes are down stairs (Te wairua pakiki 1 & 2). After school there is a walk pathway for us to get home , also a drive through for our parents to pick us up. We don't have patrols anymore. Other than all of those , our school is interesting , we have a recovery room that is sound proof , you can't hear others outside of the room & nobody can hear you either.
It's easier to get together with the rest of the school. We have an elevator for special reasons. I feel like this school made a big change for our school & it is much better than the old school.

Moving to the new school

15.11.19
Reflection

What?
I came late to school , met everyone inside the innovation room / old room 1. After a while we all assembled into the new school. It feels nice to be in the new school , the rooms are so spacious. We went to room 1 & 4s new room & learnt the new rules. Then walked up 20 stairs to get to room 3 , 5 , 7s new room. We sat down & listened to Mr Coackley telling us about the school. Then everyone seperated into their rooms. It was so loud but I could cope with it. We then went to see the toilets , it's nice because we finally all have mirrors inside. The bell rang , everyone stayed inside , it was easy for the teachers. Everyone had toe jams & the smell was trapped. Lunch ended & everyone went back into their spaces.

So What?
We moved on & left a building that was here for 60 odd years , memories will be cherished. I think a change was all we needed. We just need to take care of the new building.

Now What?
We made it in the history SPX , now it's time to make new memories.

Use Google to help you find two other polluted rivers in New Zealand.

On your blog, tell us:
1) The names of the rivers. 2) The location of the rivers. 3) What is being done to clean up the rivers (if anything).

Manawatu River
Located in Manawatu-Wanganui
•    Reduce bacteria in the river
•    Prevent overallocation of river water
•  Protect habitats for native birds and fish and enable movement between these areas.

What do you think about this rule? Is it fair that people are charged up to $100 000 for overfishing?
On your blog, tell us what you think about this rule and why you think it!
Yes I think they should be charged but I don't think they should be charged that much. They should just be charged just $500 because that is enough.
They should be charged because they are killing fish which is God's creation and shouldn't be treated with disrespect. Also because the place is private so they shouldn't be doing it anyways.

On your blog, write a short story about what you think is happening in the picture. Be sure to tell us where you think the people are and what you think they were doing at the time that they stopped to pose for the selfie. To earn full points, the story must be 8 – 10 sentences long.

A young adult is taking a photo on top of a tall building
where you can see the ocean and a lot of other buildings basically |the view|.
I don't have any place in mind of where I think she is.
I think she fell in love with the view that she just had to stop to take a photo.
You can see a lot of yellow and red buildings. The clear sky with no clouds.
The dark green / blue ocean.
She doesn't look scared but also is trying to get a good angle while trying not to fall of the building.
She is on the edge of the building which makes the photo look more interesting.
The green bushes and tress , also the huge bridge. She must have gotten a very good photo to treasure in her phone.

Over the years, people have suggested that we come up with a new name for the pool. What do you think we should call it? Take a minute to let your creative juices flow.

On your blog, give us a list of three to five options for the name of this geothermal pool. Put a star (*) beside the name that you like the most.
Green lava pool |It is hot|
*Pool of smelly green wonders |The pool is not clear so you might wonder whats in it|
Green garbage |It is obviously green and also it smells|

Let’s imagine that you had the chance to visit Milford Sound by boat, foot (walking) or air (helicopter). Which option would you prefer?
On your blog tell us which of the three options you would take to explore Milford Sound. Be sure to tell us why you have chosen this option.
If I had the chance to visit Milfor Sound I would choose to be in a helicopter because
I can see the beautiful view from up high and it's more exciting.

On your blog, tell us how you will solve this maths problem. You can write your answer in words, use a Sketchpad image or post a video explaining how you would figure it out. Be sure to give us your final answer. .
Adult can lift 25kgs,
25x4 = 100kgs, 25x8 = 200kgs. + or double to make it 400kgs with 16 audlts,
Add 4 to make 100 more kgs.
The equation is like this now
25x20 = 500kgs

Adults and children
10 Adults and Children ,
10x25kg = 250kgs, 10x15kgs 150kgs. 250kgs+150kgs = 400kgs.
Add 4 more adults(25kgs) to make another hundred
The total is

14 Adults
10 Children

On your blog, share a list of the ingredients that you need to make this food. You must type out the list of ingredients yourself (and not simply copy and paste it from a website) to earn full points.
One of my favourite foods are pizza
This is how to make it:

  1. For the sauce
  2. You add olive oil into a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onions and sauté until it is soft
  4. Stir in garlic and cook
  5. Stir in pureed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, parmesan cheese, brown sugar and red pepper flakes.
  6. Slowly stir in chicken broth.
  7. Light boil it and then reduce heat to barely a simmer.
  8. Cook until liquid is reduced to your liking.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning
  10. To make the crust, in a small bowl or glass, add 1 teaspoon sugar to very warm water.
  11. Stir in yeast and let sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the yeast to proof.
  12. When yeast is ready add mixture to a large bowl.
  13. Stir in flour, salt, remaining sugar, oil, Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese.
  14. When dough forms, place dough on a lightly floured surface and kneed gently with oiled hands.
  15. Press the dough into a lightly greased 12-inch pizza pan. Be sure to keep your hands oiled with olive oil to soften the dough and make it easier to press out.
  16. Cover dough with plastic wrap and place in a warm location for 30 minutes. (see note)
  17. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  18. When ready to serve, spread sauce over pizza.
  19. Top with cheese and toppings.
  20. Bake for 12 minutes or until the crust in the center of the pizza is fluffy and fully cooked.
  21. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
  22. Slice and serve!

For this activity you are asked to think of someone who is very tough and strong. They can be someone who you know personally or they can be a character that you have read about in a book, seen in a movie, or on a television show.

On your blog, tell us about this person. Who are they? Why are they, in your opinion, so strong and tough?
My brother , he is very strong on the inside and out , he keeps me out of danger and sticks up for me everyday when something happens to me. He is very strong and he looks after everyone in my family.
