Activity 2: Fabulous Ferns [4 points]


One of the most common plants found in New Zealand forests is the fern. It is a special, iconic symbol of New Zealand. You will find pictures of ferns on the jerseys of many famous sporting teams in New Zealand, including the New Zealand All Blacks.
Did you know that many of these teams also have the word ‘fern’ in their name? Use your best researching skills to find three New Zealand sporting teams who use the word ‘fern’ in their title.
On your blog list three sports teams that have the word ‘fern’ in their title. Beside each team’s name, post a picture of their uniform. Then, at the bottom of your blog post tell us which of the three uniforms you like best and why.

Out of all these "Fern" teams uniforms , I favour the Black ferns uniform , it looks very comfortable to play in , my favourite colour is black and their uniform is black and also because the design looks amazing.

    I really love the reason why your favourite out of all of them is Black Ferns, If you had a name to replace that what would it be?.

    Hi Fiapo,
    I like your reason for choosing the Black Ferns, I also like their uniform because it's good for playing rugby and it also doesn't rip easily.

    Well done on completing another activity - keep them coming! :)

    You've chosen some great pictures of each of the teams - they really show off the uniforms. I like that you've included what sport each team plays as well. Some of your readers might not know that so it's great that you've shared that information. Although, I think the Football Ferns are a soccer team, not rugby. Easily mistaken though. :)

    The Black Ferns uniform is very cool, isn't it? I like the Adidas stripes on the shoulders. The Silver Ferns uniform is my favourite. It reminds me of the dresses my netball team wears when we play on Saturdays. Do you play any sports?
